About
G'day! I'm Seb, and I've spent the last 17 years on a mission to prove that enterprise software doesn't have to feel like... well, enterprise software.
You know the type - clunky, confusing, and designed by someone who clearly never has to use it.
My journey started with a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment in Animation (yes, really!), which probably explains why I'm obsessed with making business software that people actually want to use. After stints in game QA and running a photo centre, I discovered my calling: solving complex business problems with elegant tech solutions.
These days, I'm the General Manager at Octfolio, where we help organisations across Australia and New Zealand manage hazardous materials compliance without wanting to tear their hair out. I've had the privilege of working with everyone from poultry producers (saving them $1M+ annually) to power companies (96% error reduction!), always with the same goal: making their work lives easier.
I'm particularly proud of building remote teams before it was trendy (been doing it since 2016!), creating a partner program that helped drive revenue, and most importantly, fostering a culture where my team genuinely enjoys Monday mornings. That last one might be my greatest achievement.

What started as a principal consultant role quickly evolved into leading the entire operation.

Utilities Mobile Solution
Built a mobile app for field technicians managing 13,000 high-voltage transformers. Reduced errors by 96% and won an innovation award. Turns out, good UX matters even when you're wearing safety gear!

A searchable directory of licensed asbestos professionals across Australia and New Zealand: surveyors, removal contractors, testing labs, consultants, waste disposal, training and equipment. I built it and I run it, under the grand title of Listing Manager.
The association directories had gone stale and everything else was buried under ads. That's fine if you already work in the industry. It's hopeless if you're a homeowner who has just pulled up a tile, a landlord who has spotted something in a roof cavity, or a project manager who has inherited a site.
Worth saying out loud: I work in this industry. One of the directory's categories is asbestos management software, which is what Octfolio sells. Competitors are listed too, which is rather the point of calling it independent.

Ever wondered how much your meetings actually cost? This little tool (it's a joke btw) calculates the real-time cost of meetings based on attendees and their hourly rates. Spoiler: that weekly status update is expensive!
Family road trip app
There Yet?
A simple app born from countless "Are we there yet?" questions on family road trips. Shows kids exactly where we are on the journey, how far we've come, and (most importantly) how much longer until we arrive. Because sometimes Dad doesn't know either!
