Building enterprise software that doesn't feel like enterprise software.
About Me
G'day! I'm Seb, and I've spent the last 15 years on a mission to prove that enterprise software doesn't have to feel like... well, enterprise software. You know the type - clunky, confusing, and designed by someone who clearly never has to use it.
My journey started with a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment in Animation (yes, really!), which probably explains why I'm obsessed with making business software that people actually want to use. After stints in game QA and running a photo centre, I discovered my calling: solving complex business problems with elegant tech solutions.
These days, I'm the General Manager at Octfolio, where we help organisations across Australia and New Zealand manage hazardous materials compliance without wanting to tear their hair out. I've had the privilege of working with everyone from poultry producers (saving them $1M+ annually) to power companies (96% error reduction!), always with the same goal: making their work lives easier.
I'm particularly proud of building remote teams before it was trendy (been doing it since 2016!), creating a partner program that help drive revenue, and most importantly, fostering a culture where my team genuinely enjoys Monday mornings. That last one might be my greatest achievement.
What Drives Me
- People Over Process: Great teams build great products, not the other way around
- Elegant Solutions: The best answer is usually the simplest one that actually works
- Remote-First: Talent is everywhere, so why limit yourself to one postcode?
- Family Time is Sacred: No one remembers how late you worked, except your family
My Journey
General Manager
Octfolio
For the past 9 years, I've been on a mission to make enterprise compliance software actually enjoyable to use. At Octfolio, we're helping many organisations across Australia and New Zealand manage hazardous materials without the usual enterprise software headaches.
What started as a principal consultant role quickly evolved into leading the entire operation.
Solutions Architect & Consultant
Theta Technologies
My path to "making enterprise software human" started at Theta Technologies, where I spent seven years learning that even the most complex business problems can have elegant solutions. I've worked with everyone from poultry producers to power companies, always with the same goal: making their work lives easier through better technology.
Game Quality Assurance & Web Designer
Various Studios
Just like Grandma's Boy, but with actual career growth. Between the late nights testing games and the inevitable need for glasses (thanks, Hellboy PSP), I discovered the creative freedom that development offers. This is where coding went from job to passion.
Retail & Animation
New York & Australia
Split my time between rigging horror films in New York and working retail back home. When I wasn't animating nightmares or helping customers, I was dreaming of high-end tech and maybe playing a bit too much World of Warcraft.
University
Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment
Majoring in Animation and Special Effects. Where I learned that making things move on screen was just the beginning of what technology could do.

Some are serious business solutions, others are weekend experiments. All taught me something valuable about building things people actually want to use.
Octfolio Platform
Enterprise SaaSLed the complete rebuild of our compliance management platform used by councils, schools, utilities, and mining companies to manage risk and somehow made hazardous materials tracking... dare I say it... enjoyable?
Utilities Mobile Solution
Field OperationsBuilt a mobile app for field technicians managing 13,000 high-voltage transformers. Reduced errors by 96% and won an innovation award. Turns out, good UX matters even when you're wearing safety gear!
MeetNomics
Meeting AnalyticsEver wondered how much your meetings actually cost? This little tool (it's a joke btw) calculates the real-time cost of meetings based on attendees and their hourly rates. Spoiler: that weekly status update is expensive!
There Yet?
Family Road Trip AppA simple app born from countless "Are we there yet?" questions on family road trips. Shows kids exactly where we are on the journey, how far we've come, and (most importantly) how much longer until we arrive. Because sometimes Dad doesn't know either!
